Award-winning Milanese architect and designer Cristina Celestino, creative director of Fornace Brioni, infuses a handmade aesthetic into factory-made technical ceramic tiles. In the Araldica collection, two geometric patterns—parallelogramlike Ducato and circular Corte—blend white terra-cotta with the brand’s signature variegato clay in rich, earthy tones. Inspired by the intricate 12th-century mosaic work of the Cosmati family, who left their mark throughout Rome, these tiles create tessellations that evoke Euclidean geometry. Not to mention they’re durable and outdoor-ready, even for water exposure. In the Fluviale series, Celestino shifts focus to nature’s brushstrokes and the meeting of land and water. Alveo and Golena explore tonal variations and layered textures, with the former standing out for its dense coloration. Both collections highlight Celestino’s talent for marrying industrial production with artisanal design, creating tiles that add visual depth and sophistication to both indoor and outdoor spaces.
